During the pandemic, we have seen just how effective online action can be. While for many, getting back to in-person meetings is the number one goal, we have also seen how online events, groups, and platforms can increase accessibility and enable a greater number of people from all across the state to get involved and connect better with the rest of the movement. With this in mind going forwards, alongside the regular Naarm/Melbourne team meetings which will return to in-person when restrictions allow for it, we are also looking to start an online working group for volunteers across Victoria to get involved. So whether you are living in a rural area, have accessibility needs that rule out regular in-person meetings, or simply just prefer online meetings for fitting in with your schedule and to reduce travel time - this event and group is ideal for you :)
This initial meeting is an opportunity to get to know other like-minded young people and connect over discussing our visions for a just climate future, games, and a little social media action to get a taste for online activism. This event will have closed captions available, as well as slides available, and regular breaks. If you have any additional access needs that you would like to discuss with us please send an email to: [email protected]
