AYCC Board Director

We’re looking for passionate people to join our Board of Directors. Our Board provides strategic direction, governance oversight and risk management support for the organisation. The AYCC is committed to maintaining a strong and diverse Board where individual members bring unique strengths. Please note this is a voluntary position; however, a stipend can be provided for First Nations Board members to recognise their time and lived experience.

Staff Positions


Campaigns & Communications Director

Location: Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane (flexible for the right candidate) | Employment Basis: Full-time permanent position | Salary: Starting salary of $96,967, with opportunities for progression (AYCC Level 4) | Start date: February 2023

We’re looking for a young person with skills in campaign strategy and storytelling, plus a passion for climate justice, to become AYCC’s next Campaigns & Communications Director! In this role, you’ll drive the strategy and delivery of AYCC’s campaigns to leave fossil fuels in the ground and build mass public support for ambitious climate action. Working with your team and AYCC volunteers, you’ll create and execute strategies for impact across AYCC’s national campaign, narrative-shifting initiatives, political engagement, and traditional media.

Database & Digital Fundraising Manager

Location: Melbourne or Sydney (preferred), with flexibility for remote working for the right candidate | Employment Basis: Permanent position, 3-4 days per week depending on applicant preference | Salary: Starting salary of $77,584 pro rata, with opportunity for progression (AYCC Level 3) | Start Date: March-April 2023 (negotiable dependent on the successful candidate’s availability)

We’re looking for a young person with a passion for climate justice and an eye for detail to be our next Database & Digital Fundraising Manager! You’ll be responsible for the management of AYCC’s database and rolling out strategies to scale our online small-dollar fundraising streams. You’ll leverage your technical and storytelling skills to ensure we have a strong understanding of our key audiences, engage our supporters effectively, raise vital funds for AYCC’s programs, and maintain effective, secure data management processes. Day to day, this looks like crafting supporter emails, rolling out online advertising and list-building campaigns, designing processes for effective data tagging and management, and evaluating our digital effectiveness.

Organiser & Grassroots Mentor

Location: Flexible. QLD, NSW or VIC preferred  (option to be based in regional areas or major cities)| Employment Basis: Permanent position, 4 days per week (negotiable) | Salary: depending on experience, starting salary of $67,263.04 (entry level, AYCC Level 2) or $77,584.00 (senior organiser, AYCC Level 3) pro rata, with opportunities for progression

AYCC is looking for two paid organisers to join our team, who will build the power of young people to fight for climate justice through community organising, movement-building and training. As an organiser at AYCC, you’ll play a key role in growing and supporting our national network of volunteers and local action groups. You will focus on a key state or region (e.g. NSW) and drive growth in the size and strength of AYCC’s grassroots networks. You’ll act as a mentor for leaders of local groups and coordinate trainings and events that build the skills and confidence of young people to take action for climate justice. You’ll also support volunteers to roll out our national campaign to leave fossil fuels in the ground. 

Applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, geographic locations and experiences are encouraged to apply. Exact responsibilities will vary depending on the experience level of the successful applicants as well as their location.

Regular Donors Call-Outs Team Member

Casual (8-20 hours per week) with the possibility of part-time employment after 4-6 months / Melbourne-based / $30.11 per hour (including casual loading)

To build stable and sustainable funding, the AYCC is on the lookout for passionate and dedicated fundraisers!

Our callers build strong relationships with our supporters in order to bring them onboard our Champions of Change program, where they can contribute to funding AYCC's amazing campaigns and trainings through flexible and manageable regular donations. 

This includes mostly early afternoon - evening work, and would be perfectly suited to dedicated and passionate young people looking to get a head start in fundraising for climate justice.

We are looking for people who are confident and engaging communicators, with attention to detail and who understand the importance of securing donations for a non-for-profit; and with a passion for and literacy in climate justice. In addition to the above, applicants should be self directed and able to take initiative to improve, as well as being willing and comfortable to actively problem solve.

Previous fundraising experience and/or experience volunteering within NFPs would be highly regarded but is not essential.

Volunteer Positions


AYCC Organiser


Volunteer leader | Location: NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, Regional Queensland (Cairns or Townsville), NT, WA     | 1 day per week for 12 months

We’re looking for young people aged 17-30 across so-called Australia to join our volunteer team of Organisers. If you’re passionate about climate justice, supporting teams, organising events, rolling out campaigns and building the power of young people then this is the role for you! This is an incredible opportunity to use your existing (or to develop!) leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to make a significant and impactful contribution to the climate movement. 

As an AYCC Organiser you’d be responsible for inspiring, organising and mobilising young people on climate justice campaigns in your area of responsibility (e.g. Tasmania). In collaboration with your staff mentor, you’ll invest in the leadership of volunteers and support them to organise events, bring new people into our movement and implement campaigns to leave fossil fuels in the ground and build real climate solutions.

The AYCC is a youth-led organisation with an exemption from the Anti-Discrimination Act - we seek applications only from people under the age of 30. We value passion, initiative, talent and lived experiences, over formal qualifications. We don’t expect you to be an expert at everything and we’re committed to building your skills and supporting you to grow as a leader in our movement.
