AYCC and Victorian Trades Hall are marching together at the May 21 Climate Strike in Melbourne! Will you join us?
Young people were already facing high levels of unemployment and underemployment before the pandemic. In the last year, it’s gotten so much worse. At the same time, so has the climate crisis. We’re being screwed over and it’s our future on the line.
Dealing with climate change could create thousands of jobs for young people right across the country. We want a safe climate future, and we’re ready to get to work to make that happen. But we don’t want more of the same job insecurity that young people are already getting ripped off by - underpaid work, not enough hours to get by and no real job security.
So we need climate jobs to be good, secure, union jobs because climate change is union business.
Big companies and their mates in politics are always trying to divide us - pitting workers against environmentalists. But we won’t be divided. We’re coming together with the Victorian Trades Hall Council to walk together at the Climate Strike on May 21 to demand our politicians deliver climate justice: real climate action through real climate jobs. Join us!
AYCC will be meeting at the AYCC office (Level 2, 205 Queensberry St, Carlton) at 12pm (1 hour before the strike starts) and walking over to Trades Hall so we can meet at 12.30pm and march together.
Bring your banners, signs, and mates!
See you on the 21st 📣📣📣
