We're celebrating all the amazing achievements of AYCC QLD in 2020! We've just pulled off an epic election campaign to make sure that all sides of politics know we need investment in publicly owned renewables and not dirty gas in QLD.
On Thursday 12th November we're gonna hear from some inspirational speakers about what it meant to work on the election campaign, and what it means to be a young person campaigning for justice in 2020 and beyond.
Ben Smee The Guardian Australia's Queensland Correspondent will be joining us to share his take on the Queensland Election results and to talk about the power of media and importance of young people’s voices in shaping the conversation about the climate crisis.
Elida Faith from the Community and Public Sector Union will join us to talk about the importance of alliance work in our fight for climate justice.
Hannah Mitchell from Solar Citizens is joining us to talk about what the election results means for renewable energy in Queensland.
The Queensland Labor Party made some big commitments in the lead up to the election and now we need to hold them to account and push our political leaders to new heights! We'll discuss what's next and how you can take action in your local community as part of a Queensland wide movement.
Everyone, whether you've volunteered with AYCC in QLD or anywhere before or not, will leave with an understanding of what was achieved and learned through the QLD 2020 state election and what the next steps are for you, either as an individual or as part of a local group!
RSVP for the zoom link and to get updated when speakers are confirmed!!
Directly following this main event we'll be holding a space to reflect and debrief together at 7pm. We'll hear from all of you amazing volunteers who put your heart and souls into running creative and strategic actions about your wins, cooked its and your highlights; sharing all the learnings from the last few months to take with us into our future campaigns.
