More about the film (from Pacific Climate Warriors):

Walanbaa Ngiiyani | Stronger Together is the name of the film we're screening at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia on Wednesday 8th May. This is a community event where we will come together to celebrate unity and strength.

This film is of a motley crew of school students, Pacific Climate Warriors and Gomeroi First Nations Custodians as they come together in northwest New South Wales to visit the ancient lands and waters of the Gomeroi people. Together, as they confront the damaging impacts of mega coal mines and gas wells and work to protect lands and lives against the fossil fuel industry, we see that in the fight for climate justice we are walanbaa ngiiyani - stronger together.

Join us at McCoy Cct for an evening filled with community, connection, and empowerment. The doors open from 6pm so come along and enjoy our refreshements buffet!

A bit about the film

Walanbaa Ngiiyani | Stronger Together is a 35 minute documentary on the disastrous impacts of coal and gas extraction on communities around Australia and the Pacific.

A one-of-a-kind trip to Gomeroi Country brings together a motley crew of school students, Pacific Climate Warriors and Gomeroi First Nations Custodians, as they share powerful stories of resistance and the devastating impacts the coal and gas industry is having on Country and climate.

The film follows Gabby, Karra, Owen and Joey as they get up close with the ancient lands and waters of the Gomeroi people in northwest New South Wales, and witness first hand the destruction being wrecked by mega coal mines and gas wells.

As they stand together to protect Country and climate and build a powerful shared resistance, incredible bonds of solidarity are formed and we see that in the fight for climate justice, we are walanbaa ngiiyani - stronger together.
