Due to the current COVID wave in Melbourne, in-person protests have been cancelled.
In the early afternoon of Invasion Day, the Naarm Team will be having an online event in solidarity wtih First Nations people.
Everyone is welcome, not just members of AYCC! Bring your friends, family or anyone who might be interested. We hope to create an open and inclusive space to learn together and act in solidarity.
Rough agenda:
- It will be casual and we'll focus on sharing resources that support and educate about colonisation and the ongoing effects, and how we can act in solidarity.
- We'll also do a social media creating/jamming activity
- Potentially prepare some talking points on how we can bring light to the issues surrounding Invasion Day in areas of our lives that it may not be present (e.g. schools and workplaces).
- We'll also have a remote movie-screening in the night, potentially viewing 'Rabbit Proof Fence' (but open to other suggestions!)
