Australians are already feeling the dangerous impacts of climate change from extreme bushfires, to devastating droughts and dangerous floods to unliveable heatwaves. Yet even as we experience the escalating impacts of climate damage, fossil fuel companies are pushing to expand dangerous gas projects across the continent, putting their corporate profits ahead of a clean future for all of us.
In the Northern Territory, gas companies like Tamboran Resources and Beetaloo Energy (fka. Empire Energy) are nearing the production phase of their fracking plans, putting water, climate and Country at risk. Fracking in the NT’s Beetaloo basin would set off a carbon bomb that our climate and communities can’t afford.
