Operations Director

In order to run our powerful campaigns and programs which fight for climate justice we need our back of house to be sparkling. This key senior leadership role is responsible for the internal operations of our organisation. You’ll manage our finances overseeing our expenditure, facilitate our organisational planning, ensure we’re across all the risks inherent with our cheeky campaigning style and every growing volunteer network, support the introduction of AYCC’s EBA (enterprise bargaining agreement) and keep our team happy and healthy and lastly you’ll work closely with our Board of Directors on best practice governance and compliance. Every day in the role will bring you a different yet exciting operational challenge.

Volunteer Positions

VIC Communications Coordinator

We are looking for volunteers to lead our Victorian Communications Team to help shift the narrative about climate change and fossil fuels in Australia. You will mentor and support a small team of volunteers in creating and publishing a broad range of content for social media, keeping across current climate news and online trends/memes. You will help develop strategies and plans for getting our campaign messages across, and help coordinate any media presence at our larger actions. See the full position description here.

NSW State Leader

We are looking for a passionate and skilled volunteer leader to coordinate and lead the NSW branch in 2018. The State Leader, alongside their 2 counter parts will coordinate the AYCC NSW branch including managing volunteers, coordinating projects and campaigns and will be tasked with building and growing the branch to #Stop Adani. This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable organising, management and campaigning skills as well as making a meaningful impact on the most important campaigns in the climate movement. We are looking for a young person to lead the AYCC SA Schools Program. This is an incredible opportunity to build the Switched on Schools program across SA to empower hundreds of high school students to meaningfully take action on climate change through  in-school climate justice workshops and the Student Climate Action network. QLD University Campus Leaders

We are looking for AYCC group leaders at campuses across Queensland including; QUT Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove, CQU Mackay, Griffith Gold Coast and JCU Cairns. University group leaders play a crucial role in the development of the AYCC QLD branch, by building powerful groups on uni campuses with recruit young people to play a role in fighting for climate justice and stopping Adani. QLD Central Hub Coordinator

We are looking for a creative, organised and passionate young leader to head up our central hub in Brisbane. Our central hub is an action group dedicated to fundraising and campaigning for all young people from around Brisbane who are not interested in taking action on a uni campus, or at a school. In 2017, the central hub ran 3 successful fundraisers and assisted in organising key moments in the Stop Adani campaign. The coordinator would manage a few working groups within the hub and foster leadership in all of these working groups. See the full position description here.
