The Paris climate agreement was an historic agreement between 197 nations to reduce pollution and limit warming to 1.5 degrees. Exiting from this is a deeply immoral act, and a kick in the shins to a generation of young people who will inherit the consequences.

“Donald Trump is a product of the United States, but he is everyone’s problem. We share one atmosphere. He is anti-science, anti-fact and dangerous.” said Gemma Borgo Caratti, National Director of the AYCC.

“It’s important now more than ever for Australian politicians to grow a spine and stand up to Trump’s anti-science agenda and act now to stop global warming - starting with stopping Adani’s dangerous coal mine.

"Turnbull has got to stand up to the radical right wing of his party and actually get real about climate action, if not Australia will get left behind.

“Trump can withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, but he can’t stop the renewable energy revolution already underway.

“Young people in Australia and around the world will continue fighting back against dangerous politicians, and stopping fossil fuel projects so that we stand a chance of growing up in a safe climate.” concluded Ms Borgo-Caratti.

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition is Australia’s largest youth-led organisation with over 120,000 young members building a generation wide movement to solve the climate crisis.
