I used to vote Labor but until you #stopadani Labor is dead to me!

Fax Bill Shorten to Stop Adani!

In the lead-up to a Federal election, we're annoying the heck out of our politicians until they commit to stopping Adani and new coal mines.

You know what's as outdated as coal? Fax machines!

Add your message and we'll fax it - with hundreds of others - to Bill Shorten's office. Heaps annoying, and a surefire way to get our point across!

Your message can be as short or long as you like. Here are a couple of examples:

"Dear Mr Shorten, I wanted to express my concern over the Adani Carmichael mine project. In 2018, we cannot afford to open any new coal mines if we want to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Coal power is even more outdated than using a fax machine - and it's time to supercharge renewable energy. Will your party commit to a position against new coal mines?"

"Dear Mr Shorten, as a young person thinking about my future, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the Adani coal mine - and any new coal mines in the Galilee Basin, which would wreck our chances of keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees for a safe climate future. Like fax machines, coal is outdated technology and we don't need it when people right across the world are switching to renewables. I hope your party will commit to a position of no new coal."

Just months before BP was set to drill for oil in the Great Australian Bight they pulled the pin on the risky project. This was testament to the incredible defenders who fought for years to stop BP and protect the unique southern coastline.

But the fight is not over, there are 4 other companies waiting to drill for oil in the Bight. We urgently need a ban on all oil drilling in the Bight.

Please sign this petition today and we'll deliver your voice to Parliament House with thousands of others, together we'll be impossible to ignore.

    Dear Prime Minister,

We're extremely concerned that your government may allow oil companies to drill for oil in the Great Australian Bight.

The Great Australian Bight is a pristine marine environment that supports 36 species of whales and dolphins. It sustains one of the world’s most important nurseries for the endangered southern right whale, as well as important industries like fishing and tourism. These would all be put at unacceptable risk by oil exploration.

The waters of the Great Australian Bight are deep, rough and remote. Drilling for oil here is risky and irresponsible.

Independent oil spill modelling has shown almost all of Australia’s southern coast could be at risk from an oil spill in the Bight.

Searching for new oil reserves in the Bight runs directly counter to the urgent need to stop burning oil, coal and gas to prevent catastrophic climate change. It is inconsistent with the Paris Climate Agreement goals your government signed to protect our climate.

The Great Australian Bight is the wrong place to drill for oil. And this is the wrong time in history to allow oil companies to look for more of it.

Prime Minister, I call on you to ban oil and gas development in the Great Australian Bight now and into the future.

Tell Westpac to ditch fossil fuels!

Tell Westpac to turn their back on Adani and out of date fossil fuels:

    5,598 signatures

    To Westpac CEO Brian Hartzer,

You say you're committed to strong action on climate change. It’s time to prove it. Keeping global warming to below two degrees requires urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions - that means ruling out investing in Adani's Carmichael coal mine.

Your investments are key to avoiding dangerous climate change. If you want to maintain your "World's Most Sustainable Bank" title, you're going to have to do the following:

    ● Publicly rule out any involvement in Adani's dangerous Carmichael coal mine,

    ● Make no further investments that expand the size of the fossil fuel industry, and

    ● Reduce your exposure to the thermal coal sector to zero by 2020, and all fossil fuels by 2030.

Thousands of Australians and bank customers.

Although the Great Barrier Reef has just sweated through its worst ever bleaching event, all hope is not lost. We really need the big banks to stop funding climate destruction and save our reef. This means ditching funding for fossil fuel projects like Adani’s Carmichael coal mine.

Adani are trying to push ahead to secure financing for a coal project near the Reef, but we will not let them pass us.

As Adani ramp up, so do we, every avenue they try, we block.

Over the next few weeks we've got to ramp up the pressure on the banks in the lead up to their big annual shareholder meetings. Together we’ll hold them accountable to keeping the Reef and our future safe, and make sure they don’t waste our money on Adani's dangerous coal mine.

Malcolm, you said you'd repower Port Augusta, now make it happen.

To the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Minister for Energy and Resources Josh Frydenberg MP,

As a matter of urgency, lock in the finance for building Australia's first large solar thermal plant with storage in Port Augusta.

    2,357 signatures

Clean power on demand and new clean jobs is something the Port Augusta community has fighting for over the last five years. In the wake of the old coal stations closing, building solar thermal in Port Augusta has never been more urgent.

It's time to make solar thermal in Port Augusta happen. With the Liberal, Labor, Nick Xenophon and Greens parties all supporting solar thermal before the election and serious companies ready to build it together we can turn that support into funding for solar thermal in Port Augusta.

Sign the petition to Prime Minister Turnbull and Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg asking them to come through on their promise to the Port Augusta community and sign the dotted line for funding for solar thermal in Port Augusta.
