Thanks for taking action to make sure we have a powerful response to the government's outrageous inaction on climate change
💼 Here's your toolkit for climate justice: 💼
Social media square for Syd + Melb:
Template social media post:
This weekend I'm rallying in response to the Federal government’s outrageous lack of climate policy and the undue influence of the fossil fuel lobby over our democracy.
Come stand with me for climate justice!
Brisbane special event social media post:
Come to a family friendly action to send a message to local decisions makers that we need to keep fossil fuels in the ground and transition to 100% renewable energy.
The Pacific Islands are on the front lines of climate change, and we stand with them!
How to invite 10 friends and lock them in:
To build massive rallies that show the power of the climate movement and of our demands for a safe climate future, we're going to have to reach out to friends and get them involved.
The best ways to do this? Jumping on the phone, organising a one-on-one coffee date, or sending a message to them on Facebook.
Start by checking in with the person and catching up with them, make it fun!
Then, tell them about what has been happening in climate politics with our government basically being overthrown by the coal and gas industry amidst the terrifying climate impacts that are happening right now in Australia as it burned through winter and farmers battled through drought.
Explain what you are doing about this urgent situation, by being a leader and going to rallies and volunteering. Only through people power and with the people raising their voices crying for climate justice and safety from climate change, will we change the course of politics in this country.
Tell them the details of the event, and the fun and inspiring experience you've had (or hope to have) by going to rallies or volunteering for a social issue cause.
Get them to commit to a time and meeting place near or at the rally, so they have somebody familiar with them.
Then, you're all set and ready to build a revolution!
