Every week we've got key actions you can take to help stop public money going to dangerous gas projects. Come along to an impact hour to take action and remind our politicians that public money should be for public good.
Origin Energy recently announced that they have re-started their fracking plans in the Northern Territory. This news came just days after Scott Morrison announced his plans to hand millions of dollars to the dangerous gas industry. This is why we need to keep the momentum going.
Origin Energy’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just around the corner, which means now is the time to ramp up the pressure and make sure that their shareholders, investors and staff see that fracking in the NT is risky business.
We know that fracking will endanger the water supply of Aboriginal communities across the NT and release enough emissions to completely wreck our planet. And unless Origin Energy feel the heat, they’re going to continue pushing ahead with their dangerous fracking plans against the will of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal communities first and worst impacted.
We are in a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic, just after Black summer which devastated communities. And as the youth climate justice movement, we’re standing up for ourselves and others to demand better. To demand an end to dangerous gas fracking projects that threaten communities and country.
We'll be taking action together to say no to Origin's fracking plans, and this week we've got a creative action we're going to work on...
All resources and guides will be provided, so we can jump straight into taking action.
These events are being held online via Zoom, and are open to any young person (under 30) across the country - whether you're new or you've been involved with the AYCC for years.
