To work effectively together, as a movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people fighting for climate justice, we need to ensure that staff and volunteers across our movement have a basic level of cultural awareness and understanding of our shared history.

In order to address this gap the AYCC have developed a one-day solidarity training alongside Karrina Nolan from Original Power. This training has been developed at the request and with the support of Seed and key Aboriginal activists in the climate movement.

The training is run by non-indigenous people in order to take some of the burden off Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to do this work.

Due to our COVID-19 context, we'll be delivering this Solidarity Training online with 4x 1.5hour long modules to complete. There will be frequent breaks both during and in between modules. Live zoom captioning and plain-text transcripts will be provided, however if you have other requirements to comfortably participate in this training please email or text the Training Manager, Angie on 0406 016 069 or at [email protected]

This training is for Naarm team AYCC volunteers. If you're not in the Naarm team, but want to attend this training, we'll be running another round online, open to all volunteers nationally, on Saturday 20th November. You can sign up to the National round here:

Please note: This training has been designed to educate non-indigenous people and is not recommended for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.
