Schools Program Manager

We’re looking for a passionate person to coordinate the delivery of AYCC’s high school program: Switched on Schools.  The candidate will empower thousands of high school students across Australia to understand climate justice and take meaningful action on climate change in their communities. The AYCC is a youth-led organisation, with all staff and core volunteers under 30 - as such, we seek applications only from those under 30. We strongly encourage young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTIQA, and people of colour from diverse backgrounds to apply.

Switched on Schools Mentor - Australia Wide

By joining AYCC's Schools Team, you’ll be taking part in a nation-wide movement of young people working to create a more innovative, just and sustainable Australia! Schools mentors play an important role in providing students with the skills, knowledge and networks necessary to create change, empowering them to become the lifelong climate leaders Australia urgently needs. This mentor role is a unique opportunity for volunteers to develop leadership, organisational, campaigning and relationship-building skills. See the full Position Description here.

Western Sydney State Leader(s)

We’re looking for 3-4 outstanding individuals aged 18-30 to join the team and lead the AYCC Western Sydney branches for 2019-2020. This is an incredible opportunity to build AYCC Western Sydney to powerfully implement strategic grassroots campaigns at a crucial time for the climate and our communities. The Western Sydney State Leaders (4) will build on existing leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills to make a significant and lasting contribution to communities on the frontlines of climate change across Western Sydney. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic and exciting leadership team that is building a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis in some of the most culturally, linguistically, and religiously diverse and climate-affected communities in Australia. NSW State Leader(s)

We are looking for a passionate and skilled volunteer leader to coordinate and lead the NSW branch of AYCC in 2019-2020. The State Leaders (4) will coordinate the AYCC NSW branch including managing volunteers, coordinating projects and campaigns and will be tasked with building and growing the branch to #Stop Adani and get fracking banned in the NT in solidarity with our sister organisation, the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network. This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable organising, management and campaigning skills as well as making a meaningful impact on the most important campaigns in the climate movement. This is an incredible opportunity to build the Switched on Schools program across New South Wales. You'll empower hundreds of high school students to meaningfully take action on climate change through training, mentoring and managing a team to deliver in-school climate justice workshops, build our Student Climate Action network, and help plan climate summits for hundreds of students. VIC State Leader(s) - Communications Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and skilled young person (under 30) to coordinate and lead the Communications (Comms) Hub at AYCC Victoria in 2020. The Communications Coordinator(s) at AYCC Victoria will be tasked with managing a small team of volunteers in creating and publishing a broad range of content for social media, and keeping across current climate news and online trends/memes 😎

With the rest of the Victoria Leadership team, this will include recruiting, mentoring and supporting a team of volunteers in the comms hub; organising and facilitating regular VIC comms team meetings; developing AYCC Victoria's social media presence to engage and motivate young people to take action; and more! ✊🏾

VIC State Leader(s) - Volunteer Support Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and skilled young person (under 30) to coordinate and lead the Volunteer Support Hub at AYCC Victoria in 2020 😍 The Volunteer Support Coordinator(s) at AYCC Victoria will be tasked with onboarding new volunteers into local groups and hubs and providing ongoing support and mentoring to our existing volunteer network.

With the rest of the Victoria Leadership team, this will include managing a team of volunteers in the volunteer support hub; organising and delivering monthly new volunteer information & welcome nights; running regular social events; building online and in-person relationships with volunteers across the state; and developing a pathway for new volunteers to get involved in their local group. 

This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable organising, teamwork, and management skills (as well as meeting hundreds of incredible like-minded people while having an impact on the most important campaigns in the climate movement 😜). See the full position Description here.

VIC State Leader(s) - Movement Building Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and skilled young person (under 30) to coordinate and lead the Movement Building Hub at AYCC Victoria in 2020 😍 The Movement Building Coordinator(s) at AYCC Victoria will be tasked with building and growing new groups across the state to run our campaigns alongside our sister organisation, the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network.

With the rest of the Victoria Leadership team, this will include managing a team of volunteers; running regular outreach events (online and offline); creating pathways for people to get involved; building relationships with potential volunteer leaders to seed new groups; mentoring and supporting local groups across the state as they start up; and coordinating projects, events and campaigns to build the movement (such as market stalls, speaking opportunities at university lectures, phone outreach, etc.) 💪🏾
