Our government is making plans to give billions of dollars of public funding to fast track dirty gas projects. While our communities are still reeling from the covid crisis and millions have been plunged into poverty, our government has chosen to prioritise planet wrecking projects.
But we can stop them. The government needs the support of the Senate to get their plans across the line. That's why we're coming together to hit up our local politicians and put the pressure on them to prioritise our communities before profits.
For 5 weeks, we'll be taking action to help stop public money going to dangerous gas projects. Come along to an Impact Hour to join young people across the country in telling our politicians that public money should be for public good!
At our first Impact Hour, we'll be targeting the Greens and a handful of independent MPs to ask that they run a joint press conference where they will publicly commit to opposing any public funding for gas expansion, and express their support for a plan that would create clean jobs for our communities.
All resources and guides will be provided, so we can jump straight in to taking action.
These events are being held online over Zoom, and are open to any young person (under 30) across the country - whether you're new or have been involved for years.
The Zoom link will be sent to folks who RSVP on the day of the event.
