The news that Hazelwood’s owners are making a decision about the future of the power station means it’s more important than ever to support the Latrobe Valley to build a sustainable future. Many in the community are already driving this work forward, but they need the help of governments and the wider Victorian community.
Join us and our friends at a day of community conversations in the Latrobe Valley.
What: A day of door knocking and surveying in the Latrobe Valley. We’ll ask community members about their vision for the region and what support is needed to build a fair, sustainable and prosperous future. We will organise transport from Melbourne and provide a short training on how to conduct effective and friendly survey conversations.
When: Saturday 15th October meet at 8.30am in the CBD to travel down together and meet with local volunteers. We will return to Melbourne by 5pm.
Why: To show support for the Latrobe Valley community and ensure local voices are being heard in the conversation about the Latrobe Valley’s future. We want to demonstrate to all levels of government that the community is leading the way but needs their support.
