Dickson Climate Doorknock May 29th
The election has been called!
It's time now to make sure that strong climate action is on the agenda of the two major parties, particularly in the seats of the biggest climate blockers, like Peter Dutton. We're going to make sure that whatever party forms our next government, they have a mandate for strong climate policy and the ability to put it in to law.
For us, that means the inner-north seat of Dickson.
Can you join us for a day of door-knocking fun to reach as many of the Dickson residents as possible and talk to them about the Reef, strong climate action and how they'll vote this election?
WHEN: Sunday 29th May, 1-6pm
WHERE: Arana Hills Uniting Church, 14 Alstonia St Arana Hills.
WHY: The Dickson electorate is a really important electorate for this campaign because it's the seat of a major climate blocker in the coalition, Peter Dutton. We want to make sure that he knows that his consituents care about the future of the Great Barrier Reef so that he stops blocking important action to protect it.
WHAT: An hour of training and then 2 hours or so of chatting to local residents with a buddy, followed by a debrief and a BBQ
WHO: You! And any friends who you might want to bring along for the day.
There's never been a more important time to hold our politicians to account and protect the Great Barrier Reef from further disaster. Our politicians need to hear that their electorates care and want action.
Can you join us to speak to Dickson residents and fight for strong climate action this election?
