Coal out of politics: Sydney snap action
The hard-right coal-hugging faction of the Coalition just held a brutal coup to topple a PM who they saw as insufficiently pro-coal.
The community is streets ahead of this government on global warming and clean energy; so we’re taking to the streets to make sure everyone sees how out of touch they are.
Scott Morrison’s first day in Parliament as PM will be ushered in by a wave of over 50 snap climate rallies, as people from all walks of life and every corner of the country rise up against the Coalition’s reckless refusal to act on global warming.
While Scott Morrison represents the coal lobby, we’re taking to the streets to represent the eight out of ten Australians who want renewables to be our main source of energy.
We’ll keep at it until we have a government that takes action on global warming and moves our country beyond coal to a sun-powered future.
Join over 1000 people in Sydney outside Scott Morrison’s electorate office the weekend before Parliament sits again to put climate change on his agenda. This is your chance to Rise up! We will show federal government just how frustrated we are by the lack of climate action in this country.
There'll be speeches from diverse parts of our community, there'll be chants and we'll march like never before.
Real climate leadership rises from the grassroots up.
