Townsville Clean Energy Rally

Young people have the most at stake if we don’t act quickly on climate change - they have contributed the least to this problem and will be the ones who have to live with the consequences of the current generation’s inaction.

With less than 11 years before the worst effects of climate change are felt, young people are coming together to show the world that they want a future powered by clean, renewable energy, and a just transition to get there.
Young people understand that the climate crisis could be an opportunity for Townsville, rather than a curse, and are coming together to demonstrate their concerns and to have their voices heard!
Townsville has the potential to become the Renewable Energy Capital of North Queensland as the sunniest city on the east coast, and could become an exporter of clean energy and a hub for manufacturing renewable energy resources - and this is what they will be calling for!
This event will be organised and led by passionate High School students, and they ask you to support them in asking for a safe, sustainable and renewable future.
You are invited to join these young leaders on Wednesday the 8th of May to show that you support their calls for a sustainable future, renewable energy and intergenerational justice.
Please bring: Some kind of shade, sunscreen, and your friends or colleagues!
