Donate to Turn Up the Pressure!

For months now, we’ve been campaigning together for engineering contractor GHD to walk away from working on Adani’s coal mine - and our pressure is having an impact!

People across the continent have been relentless in turning out to rallies, having conversations with GHD staff at their offices, and jamming the phone lines with questions about Adani. Together, we’re making headlines and building amazing momentum - but we need a little help to keep it up!

Your generous donation will cover the cost of posters, banners and creative advertising to make our message heard outside GHD offices, online and in the news.

Statement of Support for the Union Movement

In order to secure an energy transition in Australia that treats workers and their communities with respect, while tackling climate change, our country needs more workplace rights, not less. AYCC acknowledges that unions continue to play a valuable role in the healthy functioning of our society and in defending the rights of working people - and their work needs to be protected.

What makes you passionate about creating a clean energy future for Townsville? Share your message or story to help inspire others in the community and our politicians to take action!

Together, we're building a community movement to create a healthy future for Queensland powered by the sun. Across the world, we're seeing renewables like wind and solar create the jobs and energy of the future. As the sunniest city on the east coast, Townsville has huge potential to lead the country when it comes to clean energy.

Townsville is already feeling the impacts of a warming climate - like more frequent storms and longer, tougher droughts. So it makes sense for our community to be part of the renewable energy solutions that will protect our climate and health.

North Queensland's renewable energy boom is already happening - and investment in big solar projects will make sure Townsville reaps the rewards. That's why we're building a community campaign with people like you speaking up for clean energy and having conversations with politicians about what a brighter future could look like. Thanks for being part of it!

With the year drawing to an end, we all know who’ll be on the naughty list this Christmas: big coal and gas companies and the politicians who are taking their money while failing us on climate action.

  • Nothing has changed: Adani’s coal mine plans still put young people’s future on the line.

Adani announced today that the Carmichael mine will be rolled out in “stages”, making it easier to secure finance. The Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) is demanding political leadership from Labor to commit to stopping the mine before construction can begin.

Dear Mr Shorten, I wanted to express my concern over the Adani Carmichael mine project. In 2018, we cannot afford to open any new coal mines if we want to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. I am one of millions of Australians who do not want this project to go ahead. Will your party commit to a position against new coal mines?

Fax Bill Shorten to Stop Adani!

In the lead-up to a Federal election, we're annoying the heck out of our politicians until they commit to stopping Adani and new coal mines.

You know what's as outdated as coal? Fax machines!

Add your message and we'll fax it - with hundreds of others - to Bill Shorten's office. Heaps annoying, and a surefire way to get our point across!

Your message can be as short or long as you like. Here are a couple of examples:

"Dear Mr Shorten, I wanted to express my concern over the Adani Carmichael mine project. In 2018, we cannot afford to open any new coal mines if we want to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Coal power is even more outdated than using a fax machine - and it's time to supercharge renewable energy. Will your party commit to a position against new coal mines?"

"Dear Mr Shorten, as a young person thinking about my future, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the Adani coal mine - and any new coal mines in the Galilee Basin, which would wreck our chances of keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees for a safe climate future. Like fax machines, coal is outdated technology and we don't need it when people right across the world are switching to renewables. I hope your party will commit to a position of no new coal."

Support our Billboard to Stop Adani

In the lead-up to a Federal election, the Labor Party is in a critical period for finalising their policy position on climate change and energy. We need your help to broadcast a strong message for climate action in Chris Bowen's electorate.

Bowen is an influential member of Labor and one of four key influencers blocking the party from stopping Adani. He needs to feel the public pressure for climate action, which starts with stopping new coal mines.

We want a billboard that represents the vision of people across the country fighting for climate action.Chip in to fund the billboard and vote for the message you want broadcast loud and clear!
