Every week we've got key actions you can take to help stop public money going to dangerous gas projects. Come along to an impact hour to take action and remind our politicians that public money should be for public good.
The Morrison Government are caving to pressure from their fossil fuel mates and handing millions of dollars to the dangerous gas industry.
The Government's gas plan requires legislative change. But building and demonstrating strong community opposition can help to block the gas plan from passing in the Senate. By dominating the narrative about the Government’s unjust investment in gas over the needs of communities, we can make sure that proceeding with the gas plan is politically impossible for them.
It's time for every one of us to step up and stop this.
We need a recovery that puts the needs of our communities first - which means investing public money in clean energy, affordable housing and healthcare, not into the pockets of corporate gas executives. We must put the health and wellbeing of our communities at the centre of our COVID recovery plan, and invest public money for the public good.
We are in a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic, just after Black summer which devastated communities. And as the youth climate justice movement, we’re standing up for ourselves and others to demand better. To demand public money be used for our communities.
Every Friday we'll be taking action together to say no public money for gas, and this week we're engaging the crossbenchers - Jacqui Lambie, Rex Patrick & Stirling Griff!
All resources and guides will be provided, so we can jump straight into taking action.
These events are being held online via Zoom, and are open to any young person (under 30) across the country - whether you're new or you've been involved with the AYCC for years.
