    Inner South Welcome Back 2020

Welcome back to 2020! With everything that's happening at the moment - the bush fires and drought, it is so important to continue taking action - for the sake of society and for our own mental wellbeing. It can feel hopeless in the face of coal companies carrying on business as usual and the government doing nothing about climate change while the consequences are impacting thousands of Australians around the country. But it is so important to remember that together we are powerful and we can create change.

We'll have a bit of catch up and for people who only joined at the end of last a year - a bit of a get to know you. But also some info on where the campaign is at and figure out what our general plan is going to be over the next few months.

Our new office is in the Trust Building at 444 Queen St on level five (5)! If you arrive and the doors are locked please call Monique on the number on the event. Turn toward the fake grass covered 5 when you exit the lifts and turn right, the office is at the end of the hall.

Please bring along some snacks to share - even just some fruit or crackers and dip.

There is no parking at the new AYCC office, but it is accessible by public transport and the office building is wheelchair accessible.

    Climate Justice Bootcamps

When hundreds of passionate young people get together, incredible things can happen. We’re determined, connected and care about our people, planet and futures.

So when things get in our way - greedy corporations and the politicians who’re in their pockets - we take action!

This spring, AYCC’s Climate Justice Bootcamps will bring together hundreds of young people in different cities and regions as part of a national movement. Young people of diverse cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexualities, abilities and experiences will come together to learn new campaigning skills, build relationships, and plan campaigns to win big for climate justice.

Our bootcamps a run by young people, for young people. Why? Cos we’re leading the way.

Across the continent, young people are joining a global movement and stepping up to shape a future with climate justice at the centre. We’re demanding action on climate change, a fair go for workers and making sure those impacted first and worst by climate change, are heard loud and clear by politicians.

And this weekend of training, will help you be part of it all. You’ll hear from seasoned activists in workshops, share skills and meet people who care as much as you do. You’ll walk away with the tools, confidence and knowledge you need to plan hard-hitting campaigns to Stop Adani, get your community active and have real impact.

This isn’t a conference or a talkfest - it’s a launchpad for real action and hard-hitting campaigns to solve the climate crisis. Are you up for it? Secure your spot now - grab a ticket or apply for a scholarship!
