Morrison missed the memo - 2050 is too late!

The Morrison Government has announced a net zero by 2050 target - but that’s not good enough: we need critical action this decade.

While this announcement shows public pressure is working, 2050 is too late.

With Morrison setting off to Glasgow to front world leaders with Tony Abbot’s homework as a climate policy - right now is a critical moment to show him that you, me, all of us demand better.

Will you tell Morrison that #2050istoolate? Write a sign, snap a selfie with it, post across your socials and tag Scott Morrison on Instagram @ScottMorrisonMP and Facebook @Scott Morrison with the hashtag #2050istoolate.

By showing the people power behind our movement, together we can make sure Morrison knows literally thousands of us demand a real plan for net zero emissions this decade!

We are calling the Federal Government to commit to:

  • Net zero emission by 2035, with a 75% reduction in emissions by 2030.
  • 100% renewable energy by 2030, with all of our public schools, hospitals, government offices, public and social housing, halls and libraries powered by renewable energy by 2025.
  • Supporting fossil fuel communities into climate positive jobs with fair pay, training opportunities and long-term security.
  • End all public subsidies to coal, oil and gas and phase out all coal, oil and gas by 2035.
  • Power Indigenous communities with renewable energy and support First Nations to lead and reap the rewards of renewable energy.
