Turnbull Thursdays - EFIC ain’t epic!

It’s 2018 and we’re back on Turnbull’s front steps to keep piling on the pressure to #StopAdani!

It is vital that Turnbull and his government pay attention to the crisis that is predicted if this Adani mine in the Galilee Basin is to go ahead. If Turnbull really does care about climate, jobs, young people, First Nations and the future of Australia, he will stand up and rule out support for the Adani mine.

All 4 major banks and 20+ international banks have already ruled out funding to Adani - proving this mine is not financially viable BUT STILL we see Turnbull’s government planning to pour money into Adani’s pockets!

BUT WAIT... what is EFIC? EFIC is the "Export Finance and Insurance Corporation” AKA a federal government body funding projects overseas, (and recently changed to include ON SHORE projects). This means it is now easier for Adani to receive public funds. Only this week was it confirmed that EFIC has indeed got plans to “use back-door routes” to provide loans.

We have a major opportunity to transition Australia away from fossil fuels and lead the way on creating just transitions for mining communities, the renewable sector, Aboriginal Land Rights and future generations.

Come and get fired up to #StopAdani with us this Thursday!
