Solidarity Training - AYCC Victoria

The AYCC solidarity training is a one-day training targeted at non-Indigenous young people who are currently volunteering or wanting to volunteer with AYCC. It has been developed in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, but will be run by non-Indigenous people.

It is designed to:
- Increase the capacity of AYCC staff and volunteers to work in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities, including Seed staff and volunteers.
- Provide people with a sense of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, resistance and contemporary issues (and resources to continue learning beyond this training).
- Build people’s knowledge of and commitment to climate justice.
- Support people to have the resources and skills to put their solidarity learning into practice.

Snacks and tea will be provided, but please BYO lunch!
The venue is located a 7-10min walk from Melbourne Central train station, with limited weekend street parking available in surrounding streets + tram and bus stops nearby.

If you're not under 30, or looking to volunteer with the AYCC unfortunately this training isn't for you.

This event is taking place on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung/Bunurong people of the Kulin nation. Sovereignty was never ceded. We would like to pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging, as well as pay tribute to the leadership of Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network in the fight for climate justice.
