New England: how the lead candidates score on climate

This election, put New England first by voting for action to protect our climate by transitioning Australia to 100% renewable energy and protecting our land and water from coal and gas.

To formulate our scorecard we asked the lead New England Candidates to respond to key questions about policies important for addressing climate change. Tony Windsor responded personally but Barnaby Joyce directed us to the existing Coalition policy. We scored the candidates against how close they came to the AYCC’s policy goals.

Here’s how we scored them:

Two thumbs = scored above 4 out of 5 on our survey of candidates

One thumb = scored between 2 and 3 out of 5 on our survey of candidates

Grey area = scored between 1 and 2 out of 5 on our survey of candidates

Thumbs down = scored less than 1 out of 5 on our survey of candidates
