Jackson is a relatively new volunteer, becoming active after attending Powershift in 2013. Originally involved with animal rights activism, he was so taken with the experience of Powershift that he decided then and there to switch to climate change campaigning, joining up with his local AYCC branch. After taking on a few different positions within the branch he decided in July this year to apply for the role of State Coordinator. Currently studying at the University of Queensland he has a keen interest in the fields of development, global inequality and cultural studies. Jackson plans to go into academia at the end of his degree but will also continue to campaign for a safe climate future.
