High Schools Students Leading Renewable Revolution

Switched on Schools program is going from strength to strength in 2017! Check out highlights below:

Solar schools announcement in SA!
The South Australian government announced a $15 million package for 40 SA schools to get large scale solar and a further 200 schools to implement LED lights and energy efficiency measures. You can read more about the announcement here. Hopefully we see similar announcements in states across the country in the months to come! Big shout out to our SA Schools Coordinator and all the incredible high school students we’ve been working with who demonstrated to decision makers that students want renewables.

Switched on Schools Volunteer on QandA
A high school student from Geelong in Victoria made his debut on national television, asking a question about climate action on ABC’s QandA. Check out this video of his question - a powerful message from an inspiring high school student calling on our political leaders to take action on climate change to ensure a more sustainable future for young people.

Seed Indigenous Schools Program
In 2017 Seed indigenous youth climate network will be rolling out Seed Schools across Victoria. Seed Schools is a program designed by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people that aims to empower, inspire and equip high school students with the skills to take action for climate justice.
