Polluters Should Pay

The companies who are mining and burning fossil fuels are warming our planet, and it’s time we hold them accountable.

Everyday Australians are taking action to reduce carbon pollution, build clean energy, and create a future safe from climate change. But the Turnbull Government is giving big polluters a free pass to increase their carbon emissions with no consequences.

Over the past three years, $2.3 billion of public funding has gone to the Emissions Reduction Fund, paying farmers and businesses to capture carbon and reduce their emissions [1]. Yet big polluters and the fossil fuel industry aren’t paying a cent, continuing to increase their emissions and fuel dangerous climate change without penalty. Because of this, Australia’s emissions continue to rise.

The actions of big polluters are directly linked with the more intensive extreme weather events we are witnessing around the world. Sign the petition and send a message to Malcolm Turnbull that polluters should pay for their dangerous carbon emissions.
