Labor It's Time to Shine: Stop Adani Gathering

In this frosty winter, thousands of passionate Australian citizens across the nation will take on the year's largest week of action to #StopAdani for good! The event will unit people from all walks of life to build up pressure on Labor Party to have better climate policies, including stopping Adani and investment in renewables energy.

AYCC is non-partisan, but we see best to convince Labor as they are more likely to listen to the communities, which in turns will put a lot of pressure on Liberal government as they would be only party left standing.

We're going to kick off the day with speeches from renown members of the Tasmanian community and hear why they think Tasmanians should stand against Adani. Speakers TBC.

After speeches, we will lead engaging crowd chants so everyone has the opportunity to have their voice heard LOUD and clear. We will take a group photo holding our hands up as STOP signs to Adani. Following this, we encourage attendees to whip out their phones and join in on a nation-wide 'thunderclap', whereby #StopAdani social media posts on Labor members to get their attention. Throughout the event, we will have volunteers walking around to collect petitions for our campaign.

This is a family friendly event and is set to be a fun day of peaceful-protest-picnicing in Parliament Lawns. We will have artists (TBC) playing music before and after the gathering. Even if you can’t make it - tell all your friends about it and please share this event. We need as many people as possible to make the message loud and clear - together we can #STOPADANI!

Stop Adani Film Screening: Guarding the Galilee

Presented by Queensland born actor Michael Caton, Guarding the Galilee is a 30 minute documentary on the battle to stop the biggest coal mine in Australian history, Adani’s Carmichael project.

The award-winning documentary team captures the raw beauty of the Queensland outback, where Adani’s mine threatens essential water resources.

Just downstream from the proposed mine, a grazier fears for the impact on the river that quenches the thirst of his cattle, and flows to the Coral Sea.

On the coast, a boat owner operating out of the Airlie Beach tourist hotspot worries about hundreds of extra ships steaming through the Great Barrier Reef each year.

Meet these and many others engaged in the fight and find out what mining billionaire Gautam Adani has planned for Australia.

This screening is hosted by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and is open to all members of the public. A gold coin donation as you enter the lecture theatre would be greatly appreciated.

    Water is Life Film Screening

Come along and join the AYCC for a screening of Seed's film 'Water is Life', a documentary about Seed's fight against the lift of the Fracking ban in the Northern Territory.

Recently Chief Minister Micheal Gunner announced the decision to lift the ban and has made 51% of the Northern Territory available for gas fracking.

Gas fracking can be disastrous and no matter how many stipulations they put in place, they can not promise it will be a safe practice.
Come along and learn about what Seed has been up to and how you can step up and take action to prevent gas fracking!
