New Figures Show Government Asleep at the Wheel as New, Clean Energy Revolution Sweeps Globe

The figures from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation’s annual report show that investment fell $6 billion in 2012/13 to $3.17 billion in 2014/15. At the same time investment globally grew to a record Australian $449.28 billion.

“Tony Abbott’s government will be remembered for its ideological war on clean energy and the impact of this can be seen in increasing power emissions and renewable energy investment falling 50%. The question is, what is Malcolm Turnbull going to do about it?” Mr Spencer said.

“There’s no doubt been a change in tone since Malcolm Turnbull became Prime Minister, but Tony Abbott’s cuts to the Renewable Energy Target still remain in place. Australia needs more than just a change in ‘vibe’ to grasp the opportunities of cleaning up our power and shifting to 100% renewable energy” Mr Spencer said
